Who is This Workshop Geared for?
This workshop will be great for anyone that is curious about creating their own little cut flower garden that would like a super easy and economical introduction into cut flower gardening. You will go home with all the flowers you need and a clear plan on how to get them growing in your garden.
My goal is to ease you into the whole process of growing your own cut flowers so you know the basics and can enjoy flowers to cut at home. I will provide an easy plan for beginners to follow along so you will feel more confident and have fun growing a little flower garden.
I have chosen varieties that are easy to grow and quick to germinate so you will have success.
In my own journey of growing flowers, it started out as a hobby. I read books upon books, watched videos but was left a little confused and unclear where to just start. So it turned out to be time consuming to learn it all and expensive. I ended up buying so many different varieties in order to get a decent bouquet and was left in the end with extra seeds I didn’t use and plants that didn’t grow as they were really picky how they germinated or grew according to our climate. So I would have jumped for the opportunity to have it all laid out for me. In fact, I would have signed up for something like this every year just so I could have the chance to cut my own flowers during the hectic days of bringing up kids. I’m sure you will be returning every year once you join this workshop. It’s so much fun to grow cut flowers to enjoy the whole summer.

Do I need Special Supplies at Home?
-Although it’s not absolutely necessary, the seedlings will do their best if you have a source of light for them to grow under. So a grow light or a shop light would be great. If you don’t have that then a south facing window would also be a great alternative to set your plants beside to get the most sunlight. I do highly recommend a grow light to prevent leggy seedlings.
-A heat mat is useful to germinate your seeds quickly and evenly but again not necessary.
-Watering can.
How much space do I need in my garden to grow the flowers?
You will need an area approximately 4 feet by 12 feet. If you have raised beds, it can be broken up into a 4 by 8 foot and 4 by 4 foot bed as well, or planted throughout any garden landscape. The flowers I chose are sun lovers, so it is ideal to grow these flower in full sun.
