A Year in Farm Photosessions
It all started about a year and a half ago, the sweetest photographer contacted me to inquire about taking photos on the farm. She asked me what kind of farm I had and I said a flower farm! Well to a photographer that was probably music to her ears. I opened my flower gardens up for her for a photoshoot and well, the rest is history. We now have many little nooks and crannies on the farm that I have decorated for a many photo sessions and I would say I have come to also love and appreciate many things photographers revel in…. Like overcast skies….with no rain, and the ‘golden hour’. I have to come to look at the forecast on an hourly basis hoping the weather cooperates for a photo session. It’s not for the faint of heart, there has been many times I’ve experienced heart palpitations over a dark looming cloud and thinking about the families all looking their best to get their beautiful farm photos. And praying to the cloud gods to just wait a little bit longer before you let go of all those raindrops. Besides that, all in all it has worked pretty amazing. The photographers I have worked with have been truly amazing and have come to change it up on the fly. With our greenhouse being offered now, it also gives the clients an option to use the greenhouse if the weather isn’t cooperating for a garden shot that day. That calmed my heart a little too.
The photos included in this blog were taken by a few photographers that visited the farm this year including:
Photography by Tara Michelle (Summer greenhouse, Apple Truck, Little girl in front of truck, flower garden)
Jessica Dawn Images (Winter GMC Truck, Winter Greenhouse
Trish Park Photography (Tree farm)
I took a few shots myself too….. I’m sure you can tell which ones. (outside barn and outside winter greenhouse)
If you are a photographer and have shot some photos here, we would love to see them and use them on future posts and advertising! You can email any you would like to share to charliemayfarm@gmail.com
